The summer heat is in full force, and every time I step out, I can feel the challenge many of us gents are dealing with. That is, to look our best during these warm summer nights. So I’d like to take this opportunity to give a quick styling breakdown, on putting together an S-Gents uniform for Summer evenings. You’re probably wondering… ‘What in the world is an S-Gents uniform’? Well, I’m glad you’ve asked. I’ll have to say that, it’s more than an outfit; its actually an outfit template, that you can rinse and repeat with different or similar items. It’s also something that would look great for a multitude of events. From dinner dates, to nightlife, and almost any other weekend event. With that said, we’ll be building this uniform from the ground up, so let’s start with the very first step.

Step 1 – Nice Shoes Steal the Show

It’s 10x harder to have a bad outfit when your shoes are on point. For a weekend fit, these cherry sport boots are absolutely perfect. Simply because they’re gonna be the attention grabber for the entire ensemble, allowing the rest of the outfit to remain simple. The next step is to figure out what pants would go well with these standout boots.

That one’s pretty easy, because when I designed these boots, the goal was to have a black suede upper, so that they flow perfectly well and specifically with dark colored trousers. This design feature make your legs look leaner and longer, since the pants and the boots visually become infused into one unit. Black jeans always work great, but these slim cargos are even better with the extra details of the military pockets, and brass zipper ornaments.

Step 2 -  Addressing Comfort

Now with this summer heat, we all want to look good but not at the expense of comfort or breathability. I know ‘comfort’ means something different to us all…but for me, and assumably those of us that love to look dapper, it means wearing something that’s not super restrictive or heavy. But still looks nice enough that you don’t feel underdressed while attending a classy restaurant, bar or lounge. So during the styling session, I went with a relaxed t-shirt since it has a looser cut that allows plenty of ventilation. The fit of the shirt is such that it drapes perfectly off the shoulders, with a cropped length, that looks perfectly tailored when the shirt is untucked. When it came to the color, I wanted to experiment with a subtle splash that wouldn’t clash with the boots, but would blend seamlessly with the rest of the outfit.

Step 3 – Accessorizing with Style

If you are subscribed to this newsletter, then you definitely have a great sense of style. I’m sure you are well aware, that the simple addition of a few key accessories, can take almost any outfit from boring to very stylish. After the bold choice in boots, making sure the accessories were understated were next in line. So, a hat choice in the Grey Trilby made perfect sense, as it helped make the fit a little more sophisticated, but not over the top. You can never go wrong with a subtle necklace like this 18” chain + dove pendant from Miansai. Complete with the pairing of a stainless watch.

And viola! There you have it! An S-Gents uniform, perfect for the weekend, that you can easily rinse and repeat, using your own color scheme for whatever you have in mind and from what’s currently in your closet. Whether it’s swapping the cargos for blue denim. Or the color of the t-shirt, or the t-shirt altogether for a relaxed fit camp collar shit or knit polo. The possibilities are endless, giving you the flexibility to create tons of different looks with this simple template.
