a Retro Hack for your Summer Style.⚡️

Mastering vintage style with a modern flair.

Greetings Gents,

It's humid & hot as who knows what...but I’d probably be the first to tell you that your style doesn't need to skip a beat. Especially when you choose to do it by indulging in vintage vibes. Flared trousers, vibrant camp collar shirts with a solid foundation of a stacked heel Chelsea boot. What’s not to love about summer style?

The first step to executing such a look is tailoring of course. Proper tailoring that accentuates or is flattering to your physique, is always a major plus. And for this outfit, I decided to dial in a slightly flared leg opening, to nail that classic vintage approach.

You can accomplish this by simply instructing your tailor to slightly taper the knee area, and gradually let out your trouser fabric starting from below the knee taper and all the way to the leg opening. Lastly, for a flared leg trouser, you’ll want to add about 1-2’’ of inseam length than your typical trouser length, as the wider leg opening, allows the trouser to sit much lower over your shoe or boot.

And finally, play with the right colors. Dialing in the right colors make a huge difference, and of course neutrals like white, grey and black are always a safe bet. But there’s no better time than the summer to experiment with color.

And when it comes to executing a vintage tone, think uncommon but punchy colors like teal, mustard, and orange, and subdued colors like burgundy, brown, beige and olive. When done right, they come together stylishly for an effortless retro look. They say everything looks better in slow motion, so you may checkout an instagram reel featuring this look here. Best of luck in your summer styling, and I’ll be back with more classic style tips soon. Until next time!

Sincerely,
