Keeping it Simple. 🎯
Sure has its perks...
Greeting Gents
As we get deeper into the Spring Season, peeling back the layers, eventually becomes a necessity for us all. But of course, we’ll all be looking for ways to keep our Southern Gents sense of style ... pristine. So here’s a quick playbook of how to look your best, without having to overthink it. One of my favorite go to hacks, when putting outfits together for myself or brand shoots, is to stick with a halfway monochromatic theme. What I mean precisely, is putting together an outfit with the goal of sticking to the same color family, but not in entirety.
It’s common to see guys match their pants and shirt choice in color, but for whatever reason, I seldom see most do this with their trousers and footwear. This idea typically works best with neutral or earth toned colors like, black, white, grey, and shades of brown from tan to a deep chocolate. For this outfit, I started with our unbelievably comfortable lug sole loafer in suede. My goal was to make this one of the main focal points, setting the tone for a sleek casual but rugged base. Next, I paired it with a set of our new Tobacco dress trousers scheduled to arrive next month with the rest of our suiting collection. Then, to break things up, I chose to go with the Cable Knit polo in Black, and a Brown Trilby fedora to keep the outfit interesting and sophisticated. A ball cap would have been a great choice as well, for a more street-style vibe. However, it just depends on the venue and occasion.
Unlike a traditional monochromatic theme that draws attention to the entire outfit, this concept always comes together to create an outfit that has a striking contrast, yet remains both sophisticated & minimalist. Finally, I included a few of my go to accessories, namely a couple stainless rings, cuff bracelet, and this new Pepsi Colored GMT watch that I scored from this awesome watch company, @vaer. It allows you to keep time in multiple time zones, for those who travel often OR work with different teams across the globe. Pretty cool huh?
I hope you enjoyed this look, and I trust that it’ll come in handy for your Spring and Summer outfit ideas. It’s perfect for date night, happy hour, or whatever else the weekend can throw your way. Remember, you can do this with a relaxed t-shirt, vintage graphic tee, or camp collar shirt. Just keep things in proportion, properly tailored, and you’re all set. Drop a comment to let me know what you thought of this outfit, and also what style topic you’d like to see next. Until next time!
Sincerely,
