Standing out wherever you go. ⚡️
A seamless transition into cooler temperatures.

Greetings Gents,
Although it’s still scorching hot in many cities, we are just a few weeks from Fall season, and so it’s a great time to have a brief chat about lightweight layers. But more importantly, I was happy to hear that many of us have a tailor handy, to get the very best look out of our garments. Conversations regarding tailoring are typically held in the context of suiting, but there’s plenty of opportunity to improve our style with minor alterations to our outerwear as well. As you begin to add layers into the mix for the cooler season, it’s important to pay close attention to your sleeve length and body taper, to achieve the very best from your Fall + Winter outfits.
How familiar are you with tailoring your garments?🪡

“I would like to have more tailored options for work and dress wear. I am a bit more rounder around the mid section so I like to have clothes that arw fitting but no to tight. ”

“Fola, I really enjoyed this read today. Especially when you hit on the topic regarding tailoring our garments etc. I really appreciate it if you can talk more in depth on that topic and also about body type etc. Even though I already do get some of my garments tailored I am still trying to learn more. Thank you again!

“Amazing content, that was well written and beautifully illustrated. In my attempts to " dress my age", I tend to overdressed and based on this article in the wrong direction. Thank you for the correction and clarification”

With that said, it’s the perfect time to pull out those lightweight jackets, like your trucker, overshirts and chore jackets. These jackets allow you to transition seamlessly from the office to casual hangouts, especially when paired with those staples you already own. Like a sleek set of loafers, low profile sneaker, and tailored dress trousers.
What's your favorite jacket to wear in the Fall? 🍁 |
In terms of keeping things simple, it’s always a great idea to play with monochromatic color palettes, by pairing your jackets with a color matching set of trousers. It’s an easy way to create a striking outfit, without over thinking it - which is a common conundrum when it comes to layering.
Finally, the cooler weather provides the perfect opportunity to pull out some stylish sock options and under layers, but it’s important to resist the urge to over do it. For sock options think subtle patterns like polka dots, and fall colors like olive green, burgundy, and a dusty shade of orange. For under layers, a denim shirt is always a great choice, along with textured polos, turtlenecks in a ribbed or cable knit pattern, and a cashmere or mohair sweater.
It’s arguably the most fun time of the year for us Gents who enjoy looking the part.
